What started out as a small dairy in 1906 is now a full circle collaboration of farms that are family-owned and operated by the kids. Burroughs Family Farms is a collaborative effort to offer hand-raised and sustainably grown products directly to you while protecting soil and water for generations to come. In 2008, Frantz Nursery developed a five-acre piece of land at the corner of Riverview and Hickman Road in Hickman, and built a little store. They take plants daily from their wholesale fields and place them in the Garden Center for purchase. With almost five acres of inventory, they have lots of options for you to look at! Virtually everything they sell is grown on site, offering you the freshest plant material around.

Hilmar Cheese Factory

Twelve Central California dairy farmers founded the Hilmar Cheese Company in 1984. In 1998, the California Visitor Center opened to welcome thousands of visitors interested in the company. It is the best place to try free cheese samples and fresh “squeakers.”
Their cafe features signature sandwiches, grilled cheese sandwiches, salads, their famous cheese chowder soup, cream cheese brownies, and cheese pie! Visit the Hilmar Cheese Company Visitor Center for a tour by calling (209) 656-1196 or drop by for some lunch and ice cream!

Pageo Lavender Farm is a small family owned and operated lavender farm that grows, harvests and incorporates lavender in a variety of products that are made onsite. The products are sold online, in their gift shop, and at DIGS in downtown Turlock! They also host a number of events each year such as weddings, receptions, and fundraisers.

The Turlock Certified Farmers Market is open on Saturdays from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on E. Main St. The market features fresh produce, baked goods, and local artisans. Their goal is to create a marketplace that educates, informs, engages, and brings the community together through partnerships with local schools, community groups, and organizations.
Last day of the market is Sep. 29th, so make sure you go before it’s gone!
