This year’s event will benefit the Turlock Gospel Mission’s Culinary Training Program (Nourish) and related services.
Turlock Gospel Mission is on a mission to end hunger in the Central Valley!
The Turlock Gospel Mission’s Culinary Training Program (Nourish) exists to provide participants with high-quality, no-cost student culinary education. The program seeks to prepare students for a successful life beyond homelessness. Students work with local Chef instructors, and staff Staff Program Coaches to develop marketplace skills as well as with shift supervisors and mentors to develop the soft skills necessary to be successful in today’s high-demand job market. Additionally, students work with case managers, counselors, spiritual advisors, and a community of others to develop a sustainable worldview and begin healing from past trauma and other emotional barriers that limit forward progress. In addition to the training described above, all participants in the Nourish program will complete entrepreneurship and small business training.
Congratulations to last year’s winner – Turlock’s Top Chef Vic Rivas of Big Vic’s BBQ!
