Enjoy free family fun and activities during Community Day, held every 2nd Saturday at Turlock Community Gardens.
KIDS CRAFTS: Out of the Box mobile art studio will be hosting crafts, sensory play, and storytelling. (Stories start at 9:00am & 10:00am.)

ROCK PAINTING TABLE: You will find all you need to create lawn art for your home or a gift for the community garden’s Little Library Area.
PLANT TRADING TABLE: Visit the free plant trading table to share cuttings, extra gardening supplies, and seeds.
COMMUNITY ITEM SWAP: Recent graduates, new parents, growing kids—they all have needs, perhaps for the items you no longer want.
Members of the local community can bring unwanted gently used goods to the Community Swap Tables on the day of the event. Visitors are invited to look through the items and take anything for free. You can bring and take between 8am-11am. (This includes people who did not bring items, there is plenty to go around.)

COMMUNITY PICNIC AND PLAYDATE: Pack a lunch from home or grab a to-go order then pick a table and enjoy brunch in the garden where you can meet neighbors and make friends. Free complimentary iced tea or coffee and donut holes will be available while supplies last.
GARDEN PROJECT/WORKDAY: Volunteer to spread wood chips and help beautify the garden as a community.

IMPORTANT GARDEN RULES:
Please do not pick fruit, flowers or veggies from garden beds without prior permission. All garden beds are lovingly maintained by different individuals, families, groups, and local organizations.
For safety, children must be under the direct supervision of an adult at all times.
COMMUNITY ITEM SWAP GUIDELINES:
We would love for all items to find new homes, however we are unable to allow to accept some items for being hazardous or non-recyclable.
Items that CANNOT be accepted at the Community Swap Tables:
– Non working, broken, compromised, stained and/or damaged items
– Couches
– Mattresses
– Bed frames
– Desks
– Dressers or bookcases exceeding 3 feet tall, entertainment centers and any other furniture items that can not be easily and safely transported by a single person.
– Large exercise equipment
– Pianos or organs
– CRT TVs
– CRT Computer Monitors
– Household chemical products such as pesticides, paint, paint thinner, drain cleaner, oven cleaner, aerosols, and other environmentally unfriendly waste products.
– Automotive hazardous waste such as tires, lead-acid batteries, additives, gasoline, oils, antifreeze, etc.
– Large appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, stoves/ovens, washers/dryers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, furnaces, trash compactors, water heaters, large console stereos, freon-based appliances, etc.
– Personal care items such as shampoo, conditioner, nail polish remover, shaving cream, hairsprays, or shavers etc
– Fragrance items
– Carpet or carpet padding
– Plumbing fixtures or building materials
– Traditional recyclables such as glass, newsprint, office paper, cardboard, plastics, magazines, junk mail, etc.
– Weapons such as guns, bows and arrows, ammunition, etc.
– Cribs, car seats, walkers or other products that do not meet the current safety standards of the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, including recalled items.
– Breast pumps �
